J’ai commencé récemment un nouveau projet. Celui de documenter la vie du village où je vis : Jouques.

Première difficulté.

Tout d’abord, il faut avouer que c’est assez intimidant de photographier le village où l’on vit. Les gens vous ont déjà croisé à l’épicerie, à l’école ou juste dans la rue.

C’est plus simple de faire de la Street Photography dans une grande ville comme Aix-en-Provence ou Marseille !

Deuxième difficulté.

Par ailleurs, Jouques ne compte que 4200 habitants. Autant vous dire qu’il n’y a pas foule dans le village en semaine en dehors des horaires d’entrée et de sortie d’école …

Cependant le week-end permet de voir plus de monde dans les rues du village. Ce n’est pas non plus la grosse affluence.

Où faire des photos ?

Jouques est un charmant et paisible village constitué d’un dédale de ruelles étroites.

Jusqu’à présent je me suis cantonné au Boulevard de la République. Celui-ci avec ses épiceries, boulangeries et cafés est le cœur du village.

Alors que les très belles ruelles à l’arrière de l’axe principal sont assez peu fréquentées.

Qui photographier ?

Bon là c’est assez simple. Les gens ! Et nous avons quelques personnages à fort potentiel photogénique dans le village.

Jusqu’à présent je n’ai fait que des photos sur le vif. Cependant je pense solliciter les gens dans le futur pour des portraits de rue.

Résultat.

Finalement j’en suis encore aux balbutiements du projet. Je n’ai pas encore pu faire suffisamment de sorties Street Photography dans le village pour repérer les endroits intéressants.

Mais j’ai le temps, je ne compte pas déménager d’ici tôt. J’alimenterai mon portfolio au fur et à mesure.

Project “JOUQUES”

 

I just started a new photography project. That of documenting the life of the village of Jouques, my hometown.

First difficulty.

First of all, it is quite intimidating to photograph the village where you live. People have already met you at the grocery store, at school or just in the street.

Therefore it’s easier to do Street Photography in big cities like Aix-en-Provence or Marseille !

Second Difficulty.

In addition, Jouques has a little more than 4000 inhabitants. As much to say that there is no crowd during the week outside the school hours in the morning and in the afternoon …

However the weekend allows to see more people in the streets of the village. It goes without saying that it is not the big crowd either.

Where to take photographs ?

Jouques is a charming and peaceful village made up of a maze of narrow alleys.

Until now I have been confined to the Boulevard de la Republique, which crosses the village. This boulevard with its grocery stores, bakeries and other bars is the heart of the village.

While the beautiful alleys at the back of the main axis are fairly uncrowded.

Characters to photograph.

We have some interesting people with great photogenic potential in the village.

Until now I have only taken candid pictures. However I think that in the future, I might go for Street Portrait.

Conclusion.

Finally, I am still in the early stages of the project. I have not yet been able to make enough Street Photography walks in the village to spot interesting places.

But I have time, I do not plan to move out of here early. I will add other photographs to my portfolio as I go along.
