I always thought that a landscape looks better in monochrome. But just to contradict myself, I like the opening photo in colour..
I 'm not sure that I would be able to walk theses trails at the age of 76... Kudos to my parents. These 2 days in mafate were really exciting. I was happy to take the kids here. We wanted to show to them that Réunion Island is not only about the beach.
Today we went walking again for 3.5 hours on a trail not far from home. They had fun. It was a bit long according to them but it was fun! Better that than staying at home watching TV.
When I see your daily routine with your kids, I feel envious as well. It might seem common for you to walk these fields, crossing these rivers... But to me it seems so great and kids don't care if it's close to home or far away. I guess that or kids will have tons of photos of them one day. A nice way to keep a memory of their youth. Of course it will be in their heads, but photos will be there to share with others like their kids!

Congrats for these 50 years of marriage ! My parents did the same this year. You do have some exciting NP in USA. I already went to Yosemite, Arches, Joshua Tree, and also almost all the parks around Powell lake. I did in 2009 a road trip of 3 weeks with my wife around the Powell lake. Such amazing landscapes... At the time I wasn't in SP but I was already a serial clicker.
Here on the island, we have a state park but it's not as big as yours.
One day, we want to take the kids to do again all these NP because I really like the wilderness of these massive parks.

Absolutely fabulous! Those mountains look so beautiful, I thought you’d stolen a few from of Ansel Adam’s when I saw those black and white shots. By the way I don’t think anyone could tire of your beach photographs, those you displayed are truly outstanding.
What a super achievement for your parents, that’s quite a trek at any age, the thought of a draught beer at the end would have kept me motivated though. Luckily they brought along a mule and it would have been handy to have you carry my stuff too!
As I said to you recently. You and Gwen are creating fantastic memories for your boys, ones that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. Plus they have this highly talented photographer with them to document it all…and of course carry their bags!

Your last sentence says it all! Beautiful trip great family thanks for letting us tag a long. We have here in New York State, the Adirondack state park, 6 million acres of beauty. You can put any three National state parks inside with room left over. Take Yellowstone, Grand Canyon , Yosemite and just drop them inside. How many acres cover your mountain area? In the fall I getting lucky, I am doing a bucket list photo trip/class night photography at the SAGAMORE, this was a VanDerBilt, camp property from the gilded age, Adirondacks were the Millionaires playground. There are eleven of us and I have a cabin to myself, taking GRD4 GR2 and the Q! Jean P suggested I get yellow filter, still hv get tripod and head, and I know at the last moment I will flip a coin decide which Ricoh or Leica. Have to get NISI Filter set up for Ricoh but just have screw on to Leica. It’s actually our 50 wedding anniversary month, so wife will probably get her cousins go to our camp. Now enough on me, have you gone Fuji mainly now and if so do you like the DARK SIDE?
