We’re all guilty of that...lazy work with the high contrast light and shadow stuff, not a “smokey penis”!

If I had to give a title to the picture of the guy with all the smoke, it would be "smokey penis"! He was recharging some nitrogen cans for dermatologists.
I don't know if taking pictures without sun is harder, but I find it more interesting. Frankly I really had fun and I didn't miss the sun. My mindset is not the same with or without it. Like I said, I kinda think that like color is sometimes distracting to me, the sun is also distracting because the temptation is here to over use it because it's simpler and the result is striking. Lazy work most of the time and the result is souless pictures...

When you say “Trusty” old Ricoh IV didn’t you mean “Rusty”?! ;-)
Yep, making photos with out that light and contrast is a challenge, one which you succeeded in I’d say. Although lord knows what that guy with the glove is doing!! Seriously, when you look through those high contrast black and white crowd pleasers they’re often not very interesting. No story to be told, just aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Not all, because there are some around that combine aesthetics and have a narrative.
My favourite here is the woman yawning (possibly) with girl behind smoking.
Great blog, always admire your photography whatever the weather conditions.
