In reply to <a href="https://www.jeffchanemouyephotography.com/en/in-praise-of-likes/#comment-2842">John Harper</a>.

I wrote this Blog a while ago, but wasn't sure to share it. I was afraid to upset people doing again some rant against FB or Instagram. But wtf, this is my Blog and this is where I can say what I want even if some people won't like my statement. Someone once told me that "may be you're taking this FB thing too seriously". I'm not sure it's about that. Not even being envious of other people with more popularity than me. I know what could be done to achieve popularity, but I'm not interested into that. I just feel that photography doesn't have to be a competition in any kind.
The guy was smoking ! must have been a damned sunny day cos it was last january. I remembered having seen the reflection of the guy. I wanted to have a perfect symmetry of the face and of his arm but had to click earlier, because of the vapour. Too many things to handle...
Have fun in LV ! Looking for the Blog !

Easy to get lost or fooled on Social Platforms. I'm sure that a lot of people don't even realize that all of this is bullshit.

You already know my views on this subject, liking “likes” is utterly futile. Your friend Christophe really shouldn’t be concerned, I had a look through on FB and his work is super, I was careful not to “like” though - which sort of proves a point, I’ve seen his work and liked it; he, of course, wouldn’t necessarily know that.

Ok, two here I like a lot (where’s the bloody like button!). The guy sat looking straight at camera, not sure if this taken outside of a cafe perhaps, I like photos where the subject looks the viewer, adds a connection. Secondly, the guy outside a shop, the reflection is fabulous. I can’t decide whether that’s vapour because it’s cold coming from his mouth (but he’s only wearing a t-shirt?) or smoke because he’s having a cigarette break. Either way a “Wow” button is needed ;-)

Another great blog, peppered with superb photography....LIKE!
