I just have two of my pics hang on the wall. My wife think that I should hang more … May be she’s right. I should select some pics of the kids. We have almost no pics of our family in the house. If someone happened to housebreak our home they would not know who is leaving here ! Nevertheless, a few months ago, I decided to print some photographs and to store them in a box. I find it more interesting than making a book with the photos. I like touching the photos, to feel the paper. It reminds me when I was younger.
I think it’s important to be very critical with one’s work. That’s the only way to improve what we have already done. Some might think that I’m just unsatisfied and may be that I would never be satisfied … For me, it’s the fuel that keeps me moving forward. A photo I would consider as a “keeper” 2 years ago might finish in the trash today. It’s just a marker to show that I grew up !

Also the “Ouverture” one is absolutely outstanding, the crown on the passerbys head is tremendous. There’s two selected from just the eight you posted in this blog, 25%. It’s a shame that dog didn’t put it’s paw up to its eyes then you’d have an even higher rate 😉
I print my work that’s so say to “adorn” our walls and that’s one occasion when I have to be very selective, they always look better in print you’re correct there. The other is when I decided to change my home page recently and had to choose just 12 images in a slideshow that would represent a cross section of my work. I very nearly ditched the slideshow idea, picked just one and even that image I had my doubts about. It’s easy to be critical of your own work, if I get a photo selected for a magazine or some internet curated site I look through and decide instantly that mine definitely shouldn’t be amongst all this great photography, it usually stands out like a sore thumb. I’d say that your hit rate is very much higher than you believe, others appreciate your photography far more than you do perhaps, I know I certainly do.
